The Bhaumik Institute hosts a weekly tea on the 4th floor in PAB 4-740 (Schwinger Lounge) most Tuesdays from 3PM to 3:30PM.
On some weeks a Bhaumik seminar or other Institute event will follow.
Everyone in the Department is invited. Faculty, postdocs and graduate students in all areas of theoretical physics are especially encouraged to attend.
The Bhaumik Institute congratulates Professor Thomas Dumitrescu on his naming as a 2026 Laureate of the New Horizons in Physics Prize for his discovery and development of the theory of “generalized symmetries” in quantum field theory. Read more.
The International Congress of Basic Science recently awarded Zvi Bern and Mikhail Solon a 2026 Best Paper Frontiers of Science Award for their paper, together with their collaborators, "Black Hole Binary Dynamics from the Double Copy and Effective Field Theory."
